Hamlet Casals

Well, I know. Don’t tell me. Everybody have to go. Yet, we humans have the grate capacity for surprising, to not expect what’s coming on. To forget how short is this nonsense trip on the earth. What bothers me the most is to see a singular man to go on the plenitude of his life. I met Hamlet many years ago when he was on his teens, back in Cuba. He was gracious and witty with a particular way of looking at life and to understand his time and choices. He was an entrepeneur and admired art and culture collaborating with many artists and intellectuals. He was a character and I’ll remember him with tenderness and humor and never forgetting his smart saying in bad times: “Esto es lo que trajo el barco”
